BALL DE PLAÇA DE TERRASSA

In this photography of file, we can see and the tarrasenses with its better finery dancing in the seat of the town, this old dance.
The snapshot, dated the 13 of March of 1876, corresponds to the Celebrations of La Paz that were celebrated when finalizing the Third Carlista War.

The Sunday of Greater Celebration of 1959, when coming out from the Solemn Office, the Plaça Vella (then Place of Spain) returned to vibrate before this magnificent tarrasense dance.

From that Sunday of July the Esbart Egarenc the appointment having been able has never needed to turn the presentation of this dance of more important popular acts traditional is of the Greater Celebration.

Today the Celebration without our Ball de Plaça would not be understood

The music of the Ball de Plaça is interpreted and the authorities open it accompanied by the dancers by esbart.
The authorities are retiraen and the dancers continue until finishing the dance.

 

 

 

Year 1999, in the occasion of the 40 anniversary, the City council granted to the
Esbart Egarenc the honor of being carrying of the Banner of the City.
