Group of Veterans

A day arrived in which, by different reasons, that group of dancers founders of the Esbart Egarenc we had to leave the Body of Dance. Perhaps the age, perhaps the new responsibilities of all type, perhaps the march of our Director of always, perhaps...

One after another one, by life law, we left the Body of Dance. But never we left the Esbart totally. Neither we, nor our Director, let belong to our Esbart Egarenc.

With occasion of any event, we joined ourselves with him, we tried a few times and we left to dance again as if the years did not happen through us.

Now he would not know to say whichever times we will have collaborated with the Body of Dance, but memory one in individual because he did much illusion to us. In 1984 the Body of Dance acted in Vinarós (Valencia) and we had to presented the Ball de Plaça during the celebration of the Greater Celebration of Terrassa. He was very exciting. After so many years. We, who we danced it for the first time in 1959, returned to dance the Ball de Plaça.

The interventions of that group of veterans extended during many years, but always they were sporadic interventions.

In 1998, with occasion of our 40 anniversary the Board of directors decided to reunite the greater group possible of old dancers of all the times and to organize a festival of joint dance to celebrate so important event.

We got to join 150 dancers and in the Centre Cultural de caixa de Terrassa we represented "40 anys of Dansa" a festival that maintained agape during three short hours the numerous espectators.
The emotion that we experimented is indescridable.

That day was born the idea to form a stable group of veterans. Idea that was materialized in January of the following year with the creation of the Group of Veterans.

The group is subdivided in three:
years 90, years 80 and years 60.

The 2000, we celebrated the I Festival of Dansaires Veterans of Esbart Egarenc and to him it was invited to participate to the Grup de Veterans of Esbart Amics of the Dansa.
The 2001, we celebrated the II Festival of Dansaires Veterans of Esbart Egarenc to which we invited the Grup de Veterans of Esbart Sant Martí.
The 2003 we participated in an extraordinary presentation of the Ball de Plaça (120 dancers) in the occasion of the 125 anniversary of Social Centre Catòlic.
The 2004 we have participated in the made Festival of Dance, by the same reason, in Cultural Centre of caixaterrassa.
For the 2005 we have intention to celebrate the III Festival of Dansaires Veterans of Esbart Egarenc and thought to invite to a greater number of groups of inside and outside our city.

Our intention is to turn the Festival of Dansaires Veterans of Esbart Egarenc a festival of prestige within the Catalan dance.
