History
The group folkloric "Esbart Egarenc" it was created the 26 of January of 1958 comprising of Centre Social Catòlic de Terrassa.

Dansaire del Social 1931 - 1936 |
This fact was not absolutely fruit of the chance, if not that they had to take part diverse factors. The main one of them was that there by the summer of 1931, in then the call Centre Social esbart pioneering of Terrassa was created: "Esbart Dansaire del Social". The Esbart Dansaire del Social" it was in operation until end of year 1936, date in which had to interrupt its cultural activities in the occasion of the beginning of the Spanish civil war and the consequent induction of most of the members that formed it. The first years of the postwar period, caused all class of difficulties towards the Catalan culture and was impossible to again put into operation that group of traditional dance. The members of the group were distributed by the different societies (all of them with the made spanish name) from the Tarrasa of the moment. They remained in the red-baptize Centro Social Católico, others sheltered in the Prróquia de la Sagrada Família, some were organized in the Coro Viejo, a few did it in the Centro Parroquial de San Pedro. Everywhere they had to dedicate concerted efforts to conserve and to disclose our language and our customs and traditions. |

Esbart
Vallparadís 1951 - 1958 |
It was necessary to hope until the summer of 1951 so that in Tarrasa esbart was illuminated new. Finally, some of the displaced ones to the Centro Parroquial de San Pedro created "Esbart Vallparadís" which would work until the 25 of January of 1958 date in which all the group: Board of directors, Artistic Direction and Body of Dance, taking name from "Esbart Egarenc" they were located in the Centre Social Catòlic.

From that distant 1958 we have ourselves we dedicated to the fulfillment of the objectives indicated in the Art. 1º of our Regulation of Internal Order that forces a: the conservation, promotion and spreading of traditional popular dance i of the calls Catalan Countries (Catalonia, Valencia, Balearic), showing the love by our customs i traditions as well as the respect and admiration by the customs and traditions of others.
It is possible to emphasize that our group maintains narrow relations cultural and of friendship with the different groups folkloric from Terrassa: Andalusians, Aragoneses, Castilian-manchegos, Extremeños, Galician, Murcian, etc. With all we maintain a warm relation and collaboration.
Of the long family of members, accumulated during these years, at the moment there are 169 in active-duty.
The repertoire of dances is made up of original choreographies of popular and traditional dances of Catalonia, Balearic, Valencia and the Alguer. As well as choreographic creations and recreations or musical contemporaries, created, some of them, specifically for us by Catalan teachers of dance. Lately it is possible to emphasize TRAMA a work dedicated to the workers of the textile of beginnings of century XX
The magnificent clothes, made by ours sastrería for each one of the dances, give to a relief and showy to our performances in which all the details are presented/displayed with the greater artistic dignity.
These performances the Esbart Egarenc has taken them, in addition to by all Catalonia, to diverse places of the rest of the Spanish state. It was already of our borders the Esbart has acted concretely in: Andorra, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Yugoslavia, Mexico, Czech Republic i old Czechoslovakia.
It is necessary to emphasize when coming out what from the year 1959 the Esbart Egarenc presents, of the Solemn Office of Greater Celebration, the Ball de Plaça de Terrassa.
